What you will do

• Design and develop scalable gRPC and REST APIs for core insurance services.
• Lead microservices delivery end-to-end from architecture to production deployment.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews and pairing.
• Implement best practices for automated testing, observability, and CI/CD.
• Manage complex production incidents and drive root-cause analysis.
• Ensure security and regulatory compliance for the financial and insurance sector.

Requirements

• 8+ years of backend experience, including 5+ years with Golang in production.
• Expertise in distributed systems, microservices, and event-driven design.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, and message queues like Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Proven track record of mentoring engineers and driving technical excellence.
• Proficiency in using AI tools to automate work and improve code quality.
• Must be based in Romania.

Nice to have

• Experience in insurance, fintech, or broader financial services domains.
• Knowledge of observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, or Jaeger.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and IaC (Terraform, Helm).
• German language skills.
