What you will do
- Manage daily health & safety protocols for staff and subcontractors, including reporting incidents and near misses.
- Plan, coordinate, and manage foremen and subcontractors; support competency and training checks.
- Produce method statements, work instructions, and risk assessments for enabling works activities.
- Coordinate resources (plant, materials, labour), determine material requirements, and liaise with procurement.
- Support Construction and Project Managers with documentation, monthly reporting, and project change control; collect and collate QA documentation for final records.
- Liaise with clients, third parties, and stakeholders, and support target cost development where required.
Requirements
- Demonstrable industry experience in a similar site engineer role.
- Recognised safety qualification (e.g., IOSH or NEBOSH).
- Experience managing subcontractors and recording measurement details for financial settlement.
- Experience with enabling works, access roads, and foundation construction in power transmission projects.
- Willingness to work away from home regularly and for prolonged periods.
- Ability to coordinate with third parties (e.g., local councils, highway authorities, environment agencies).
