Inspections Engineer

TL;DR

Location: Field Based covering Oxford, Cambridge, Northampton up to the Midlands, United Kingdom. Full Valid Driving Licence for use in the UK required.

What you will do

• Carry out statutory and non-statutory inspections safely, accurately, and on time, ensuring compliance with standards and KPIs.
• Apply technical and engineering judgement using knowledge of asset failure mechanisms to support inspection decisions.
• Maintain compliance with procedures, policies, and reporting guidelines while acting with integrity.
• Manage health, safety, and environmental risks through robust risk assessments and safe working practices.
• Provide technical guidance to colleagues and deliver inspections in a commercially focused manner.

Requirements

• Engineering Technician level qualification, ONC with relevant experience, or recognised engineering apprenticeship (RG Categories 3, 4(a) or 4(b)).
• Good working understanding of LOLER, PSSR and NDT techniques.
• Awareness of SAFed technical guidance for statutory inspections.
• Full Valid Driving Licence for use in the UK.
• Willingness to undertake further training.

Nice to have

• HNC/HND in relevant engineering discipline (RG Category 2).
• Membership of professional engineering institution (IEng or equivalent).
• Certifications: CCSNG Passport to Safety, LEEA, IOSH, IPAF, Confined Space, Working at Height, Wire Rope Examiner.
