Senior Principal Systems Engineer

TL;DR

Senior Principal Systems Engineer (Aerospace/Defense): Supporting Space Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (SISR) programs with an accent on requirements elaboration, architecture design, and system interface definition. Focus on driving technical solutions during hardware/software integration, managing backlogs, and ensuring alignment with program scope and budget.

Location: Onsite in Aurora, CO. TS/SCI Clearance is strictly required.

Salary: $90–$131.50 per hour (W2 contract only).

What you will do

• Elaborate system capabilities and features while defining complex system interfaces.
• Analyze system functionality and create detailed use cases.
• Automate test procedures and perform analyses to support integration and testing.
• Identify and resolve technical issues during hardware and software integration.
• Manage team backlogs and capacity during program increments.
• Support Earned Value Management System (EVMS) implementation and budget alignment.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI Clearance is mandatory.
• Must be based onsite in Aurora, CO.
• W2 employment only; no C2C, 1099, or third-party agencies.
• No visa sponsorship or green card holders; US citizenship required for clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field and at least 10 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with systems engineering lifecycles and Agile methodologies.

Nice to have

• Experience with MBSE tools like Cameo Systems Modeler.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, Perl, or Ruby.
• Familiarity with requirements management tools like DOORS.
• Experience with test automation tools such as Cucumber or Gherkin.
