TL;DR
Staff Fullstack Engineer (TypeScript/Node.js): Improving reliability and operability of production systems with an accent on backend and mobile integration. Focus on reducing incident frequency, enhancing observability, and establishing operational standards for a distributed engineering team.
Location: Fully remote (Global)
Salary: £100,000 - £130,000 GBP

What you will do
- Own reliability outcomes across critical backend services and React Native mobile integrations.
- Lead technical problem-solving during production incidents to coordinate response and reduce MTTR.
- Build and evolve monitoring and observability tools, including dashboards, alerts, and tracing.
- Drive blameless post-incident reviews and implement durable technical fixes and runbooks.
- Improve engineering safety via guardrails, safer migrations, and feature-flag practices.
- Mentor engineers through pairing, reviews, and coaching on production ownership.
Requirements
- Significant experience operating production backend systems at scale and debugging distributed systems.
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js for building services and APIs.
- Proven leadership in incident response, including on-call triage and root-cause analysis.
- Practical skills in observability (logging, metrics, tracing) and actionable alerting.
- Experience collaborating with mobile teams on API compatibility and release constraints.
- Demonstrated Staff-level IC leadership through design reviews and technical direction.
Nice to have
- Experience with React Native and mobile architecture patterns.
- AWS cloud experience and familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code and CI/CD.
- Expertise in designing reliability programs (SLOs, error budgets).
- Performance tuning experience with PostgreSQL and Redis.
