What you will do

• Own reliability outcomes across critical backend services and React Native mobile integrations.
• Lead technical problem-solving during production incidents to coordinate response and reduce MTTR.
• Build and evolve monitoring and observability tools, including dashboards, alerts, and tracing.
• Drive blameless post-incident reviews and implement durable technical fixes and runbooks.
• Improve engineering safety via guardrails, safer migrations, and feature-flag practices.
• Mentor engineers through pairing, reviews, and coaching on production ownership.

Requirements

• Significant experience operating production backend systems at scale and debugging distributed systems.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js for building services and APIs.
• Proven leadership in incident response, including on-call triage and root-cause analysis.
• Practical skills in observability (logging, metrics, tracing) and actionable alerting.
• Experience collaborating with mobile teams on API compatibility and release constraints.
• Demonstrated Staff-level IC leadership through design reviews and technical direction.

Nice to have

• Experience with React Native and mobile architecture patterns.
• AWS cloud experience and familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code and CI/CD.
• Expertise in designing reliability programs (SLOs, error budgets).
• Performance tuning experience with PostgreSQL and Redis.
