Full Stack Engineer (Next.js)

Annual pay range: $165,000–$185,000 USD

What you will do

• Build and maintain server-side features in a Next.js App Router codebase using TypeScript, including route handlers, server components, server actions, streaming, ISR, and revalidation.
• Design resilient integrations with third-party content, market data, and subscription APIs using timeouts, retries, circuit breakers, fallbacks, and graceful degradation.
• Own caching across Redis and Cloudflare while balancing freshness, performance, cost, and crawler behavior.
• Deploy and operate AWS services with Docker and monitor production behavior through DataDog instrumentation, dashboards, logs, and traces.
• Optimize Fool.com for SEO crawlers through rendering strategy, structured data, sitemaps, canonicalization, hreflang, robots directives, performance budgets, and crawl-budget management.
• Write end-to-end coverage with Microsoft Playwright and collaborate with frontend, content, marketing, SEO, and platform teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including substantial server-side production web application work.
• Strong TypeScript and Next.js experience with the App Router, server components, route handlers, ISR, and streaming.
• Production experience integrating third-party APIs and handling unreliable upstream services safely.
• Practical knowledge of caching and CDN behavior, including Redis or an equivalent, Cloudflare or an equivalent, cache invalidation, stale-while-revalidate, and edge-versus-origin tradeoffs.
• Experience with AWS, Docker, CI/CD, production observability, and end-to-end testing with Playwright, Cypress, or a similar tool.
• Working knowledge of SEO crawler behavior, structured data, canonical and hreflang tags, Core Web Vitals, indexing, and crawl budgets.

Nice to have

• Experience with high-traffic content, media, or publishing websites where SEO is a primary acquisition channel.
• Hands-on experience with JSON-LD, schema.org, automated sitemaps, Search Console, or Screaming Frog.
• Familiarity with Segment, PostHog, GTM, or similar analytics and event pipelines.
• Experience with subscription, paywall, or e-commerce flows.
• Interest in financial markets, investing, or fintech.
