What you will do
- Act as the internal subject matter expert on French employment law, managing contracts, works councils, and statutory requirements.
- Own the end-to-end employee lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, and payroll inputs for direct employees and EOR markets.
- Design and maintain SOPs, templates, and playbooks to scale People Ops delivery.
- Manage relationships with EOR partners to ensure high standards and compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
- Lead cross-functional projects such as HRIS improvements and policy rollouts.
- Coordinate team gatherings, market visits, and offsites for a distributed team.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in People Operations or HR, specifically within a startup or scaleup environment.
- Deep expertise in French employment law, capable of operating independently on day-to-day legal questions.
- Fluent in French and English (written and spoken).
- Based in Paris with the ability to work from the office regularly.
- Proven track record of owning People Ops processes end-to-end.
Nice to have
- Experience supporting People Ops in African markets.
- Experience with EOR partners and multi-jurisdiction compliance.
- Proficiency with HRIS tools like Deel and Ashby.
- Knowledge of Arabic or Wolof.
