TL;DR
Senior Database Engineer (Fintech): Optimizing core data infrastructure for an AI-powered banking platform with an accent on high-transaction database performance and scalability. Location: Hybrid; must be based in Krakow or within commuting distance to the Amsterdam office (at least 2 days per week from the office).

What you will do
- Diagnose and resolve complex database performance issues to ensure the platform operates at peak efficiency.
- Provide guidance to development tribes and squads on database and data design for microservices.
- Analyze large volumes of performance data and build simulations to identify and resolve bottlenecks.
- Test Proof-of-Concept (PoC) products to ensure they meet scalability and performance goals.
- Collaborate with the cloud solutions team on MVP development and launch.
- Act as an internal consultant to educate development teams on performance optimization.
Requirements
- Solid experience with large (100TB+), highly available, and high-transaction databases.
- Strong expertise in MySQL is mandatory; Oracle or MSSQL is a plus.
- Experience with cloud databases in AWS or Azure.
- Deep knowledge of database fundamentals, architectures, and SQL code optimization.
- Ability to develop tools and methodologies for isolating performance issues.
- Must be located in Krakow or within commuting distance to Amsterdam for hybrid work.

- Experience with ML, LLM, and AI concepts and their impact on database performance and data architecture.
