Location: Must be based in or within a commutable distance to Austin, TX or New York, NY. This is a hybrid role requiring regular onsite collaboration.

Salary: $190,000 - $215,000 per year.

What you will do

• Design and maintain secure, scalable software systems and APIs to support product and platform defense.
• Build and optimize security data pipelines to collect and process actionable security telemetry.
• Develop observability capabilities to improve visibility into infrastructure security and operational risk.
• Partner with engineering and Trust & Safety teams to embed secure-by-design principles throughout the SDLC.
• Leverage AI tools to improve engineering productivity, automation, and security analysis.
• Drive engineering excellence through architecture, code quality, and operational best practices.

Requirements

• 6–8 years of experience in software engineering, specifically building distributed systems or backend applications.
• Strong understanding of observability practices, including monitoring, logging, and metrics.
• Experience with cloud-native architectures, platform services, and automation frameworks.
• Knowledge of application security, detection engineering, or vulnerability management.
• Must be based in or able to commute to Austin or New York offices.
• Must be authorized to work in the US; no visa sponsorship available.
