Patternmaker I

Location: Onsite at the Franklin Foundry in Franklin, New Hampshire, Monday–Friday. Overtime and shift coverage may be required.

What you will do

• Construct repro, unit, and sectional patterns used to form sand molds for castings.
• Screw, pin, fit, and mount patterns to production plates, core boxes, trim dies, pusher heads, and gating components.
• Set up and operate milling machines, lathes, drill presses, CNC vertical milling machines, and grinders.
• Lay out and assemble pattern sections using marking tools, hand tools, measuring devices, and power tools.
• Verify pattern and template dimensions against blueprint specifications using calipers, scales, and micrometers.
• Maintain housekeeping, safety, PPE, attendance, and reporting standards in the workshop and manufacturing areas.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; manufacturing experience may substitute.
• Training in shop math, including basic geometry, trigonometry, and fraction-to-decimal conversion.
• Knowledge of blueprint reading and machine tool trades.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to perform layout, machining, bench work, grinding, and alignment to drawings.
• Ability to frequently stand, walk, use hands, and lift or move up to 25 pounds.
• Willingness to work onsite, wear required PPE, and work overtime as required.
