What you will do

• Process and underwrite new and renewal business by reviewing applications and supplemental information against underwriting guidelines and standards.
• Analyze applicant risk factors (e.g., years of experience, prior claims history, internal management controls) to determine degree of risk.
• Decide underwriting outcomes: accept, modify terms, adjust rates, non-renew, cancel, or decline based on exposure and underwriting authority.
• Generate and distribute insurance quotes to the appropriate sales representative using underwriting tools for rates and classifications.
• Refer applications outside Pearl’s underwriting authority to the appropriate insurance carrier.
• Answer policy/quote and other questions from external and internal customers; meet production quotas and quality standards.

Requirements

• Remote role based in Illinois.
• Previous underwriting experience in business insurance lines using Siebel or another CRM system.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Administration or a related field (preferred).
• Strong interpersonal skills to interface effectively across all organizational levels.
• Property & Casualty insurance license (desired).
