What you will do

• Design and optimize RAG pipelines over domain-specific content to reduce hallucinations.
• Build AI-powered features integrated into existing laboratory workflows.
• Develop agentic systems capable of reasoning and executing multi-step tasks.
• Evolve a VS Code-based development environment and AI-assisted developer tooling.
• Build and operate backend services on AWS using infrastructure-as-code.
• Implement guardrails, observability, and evaluation frameworks for production AI systems.

Requirements

• 6+ years of software engineering experience in production environments.
• Must be based in the United States.
• Proven experience building RAG systems beyond prototypes.
• Strong understanding of LLM behavior, limitations, and failure modes.
• Solid backend and cloud experience, specifically with AWS.
• Proficiency in TypeScript and Python.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI evaluation pipelines and metrics.
• Background in developer tooling or VS Code extensions.
• Knowledge of workflow automation platforms like n8n or Zapier.
• Experience with containerization (Kubernetes, ECS) and Terraform.
• Familiarity with regulated or domain-heavy software systems.
