What you will do

• Design and build production-grade front-end applications using React or Angular and TypeScript.
• Lead front-end architecture decisions and establish scalable engineering patterns and best practices.
• Create intuitive user experiences that enable operators to act on complex logistics and operational data.
• Collaborate with product designers and military subject matter experts to implement mission requirements.
• Develop data-intensive interfaces, real-time visualizations, and WebSocket-based services.
• Conduct code reviews and set engineering standards to ensure platform maintainability and quality.

Requirements

• Expertise in React (preferred) or Angular as a primary framework.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript, JavaScript, and HTML.
• 4+ years of experience, with at least 75% in pure front-end roles.
• Proven track record of building significant, non-trivial front-end products from the ground up.
• Ability to own and drive front-end architecture decisions independently.
• Must be based in or able to work on-site in Rosslyn, VA, New York City, or Seattle, WA.

Nice to have

• Portfolio demonstrating significant independent front-end work.
• Experience with data visualization libraries like D3.js.
• Experience with mapping libraries such as Mapbox or MapLibre.
• Experience with real-time, high-throughput UIs using WebSockets.
• Previous experience working at a startup and building products from scratch.
