What you will do

• Apply statistical methods to quantify and assess risk using large-scale time-series and structured safety datasets.
• Develop automated, production-ready analysis workflows for continuous safety monitoring.
• Select and defend statistical approaches for sparse, noisy, or rare-event data using Bayesian and frequentist methods.
• Translate complex analytical findings into actionable insights for engineering and safety teams.
• Communicate defensible safety performance metrics to technical leaders and executives.

Requirements

• Must be based in the US.
• Advanced degree in Statistics or a closely related field (M.S. with 3+ years or PhD with 1+ years of experience).
• Strong background in applied statistics, safety analysis, and risk estimation.
• Hands-on experience using Python for analysis.
• Experience in autonomous vehicles or safety-critical domains like automotive, aerospace, or robotics.
• Domain knowledge in Bayesian methods.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with time-series analysis, uncertainty quantification, or rare-event modeling.
• Experience applying statistics to engineering or physics-based systems.
• Proficiency in SQL or R.
