National MICS Consultant (Research)

TL;DR

National MICS Consultant (Research): Coordinating and managing the MICS7 survey in Algeria with an accent on quantitative household survey implementation and dissemination. Focus on statistical analysis using SPSS, team supervision, and collaboration with the Ministry of Health.

Location: Remote within Algeria with extensive travel requirements

What you will do

• Support the Country Office and Ministry of Health in the preparation, implementation, and dissemination of the MICS7 survey.
• Provide technical guidance and coordination to national institutions for survey execution.
• Organize and facilitate training sessions for survey personnel.
• Perform data analysis and draft comprehensive survey reports.
• Lead, manage, and supervise a team to ensure high-quality data collection and reporting.

Requirements

• University degree (preferably Master's) in demography, statistics, social sciences, or epidemiology.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience coordinating and managing quantitative household surveys.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in Arabic and French are required.
• Strong expertise in statistical analysis software, particularly SPSS.
• Ability and willingness to travel extensively within Algeria.

Nice to have

• Previous experience with MICS or Demographic and Health Surveys (DHS).
• Experience in data collection using the CAPI system.
• Strong ability to communicate and understand English.
