What you will do

• Create news stories and content specifically for the hirify.global Naidheachdan website and social media channels.
• Capture high-quality images and video to attract and engage new audiences.
• Deliver professional storytelling through both written articles and video content.
• Utilize and adapt to new technologies and workflows to ensure timely news delivery.
• Pitch a wide range of creative stories originating from your local community.

Requirements

• Complete fluency in spoken and written Scottish Gaelic.
• Excellent communication skills in both English and Gaelic.
• Deep interest in current affairs within the Gaelic context and an understanding of the target audience.
• Strong technical skills for creating and delivering journalism across digital platforms.
• Must identify as deaf, disabled, or neurodivergent as part of the hirify.global Extend programme.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of social media specifically within a news context.
• Experience in reaching underrepresented or hard-to-reach audiences.
• Experience prioritizing social media delivery over linear news outlets.
• High-level camera operation and video editing skills.
