What you will do

• Write and edit breaking news content for linear TV, streaming, and digital platforms.
• Collaborate with assignment desks, reporters, and anchors to research and produce news segments.
• Ensure all storytelling is live, urgent, and relevant while maintaining editorial standards.
• Use desktop editing systems to produce video elements for newscasts.
• Monitor news sources to identify content appealing to the local audience.
• Communicate effectively in the control room to coordinate production staff.

Requirements

• Degree in Broadcasting, Journalism, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience writing/producing in a broadcast or cable news environment.
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
• Must be willing to work in the newsroom in Miramar, FL.
• Ability to work flexible schedules including evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be willing to work long hours during breaking news and severe weather events.

Nice to have

• Bilingual in English/Spanish.
• Knowledge of libel, slander laws, and FCC regulations.
