Location: Must be based in or able to commute to Maidstone, UK (Hybrid: 3 days/week in office)

Salary: £50,000–£60,000

What you will do

• Optimize and troubleshoot complex T-SQL queries and execution plans across large datasets.
• Design and maintain database schemas, indexing strategies, and data integrity standards.
• Investigate and resolve production issues such as blocking, deadlocks, and slow-running queries.
• Support database deployments and collaborate with engineering teams to enhance system scalability.

Requirements

• Strong commercial experience with SQL Server and T-SQL.
• Deep understanding of execution plans, indexing, transactions, and database design.
• Proven track record of diagnosing performance issues in production environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for business-critical systems.

Nice to have

• Experience with large-scale databases, ETL processes, or batch data processing.
• Familiarity with Query Store, Extended Events, and DMVs.
• Experience working with cloud platforms such as Azure SQL.
