Senior Fullstack Engineer (Fintech)

TL;DR

Senior Fullstack Engineer (Node.js/React): Building and operating end-to-end purchasing and billing experiences with an accent on reliability, correctness, and scalability of mission-critical financial systems. Focus on designing safe payment flows, improving system observability, and mentoring mid-level engineers.

Location: Remote (USA) or hybrid in San Francisco, Washington D.C., or New York City

Salary: $150,000 - $185,000/year + bonus

What you will do

• Develop Premium management features across Stripe, Apple IAP, Google IAP, and credit card payment flows.
• Own the full software development lifecycle from problem definition and technical design to implementation and rollout.
• Collaborate with product, data, and operations teams to build safe and scalable payment systems.
• Enhance system reliability and observability through instrumentation and debugging of production issues.
• Create detailed design documents and RFCs while contributing to high-standard code reviews.
• Provide technical leadership by proposing architectures and mentoring mid-level engineers.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional experience with Node.js, TypeScript, React, and Postgres.
• Experience with asynchronous queuing systems such as SQS.
• Must be based in the USA.
• Ability to lead ambiguous projects and drive them to reliable production outcomes.
• Data-driven approach to defining success metrics and interpreting experiment results.

Nice to have

• Experience with ACH and credit card payments.
• Proficiency with payment processors like Stripe, Apple IAP, or Google IAP.
• Knowledge of handling PII and PIFI sensitive data.
• Experience using AI tools to accelerate development and debugging.
• Experience with GraphQL.
