Senior Forward Deployed Engineer (AI): Building and integrating AI-native agents for Logistics Service Providers (LSPs) with an accent on event-driven pipelines and API-first design. Focus on transforming manual logistics workflows into autonomous agent-to-agent coordination and optimizing data interoperability across TMS, WMS, and ERP systems.

Location: Hybrid in Chicago, IL (3 days a week in-office). Must be authorized to work in the US without current or future sponsorship.

What you will do

• Own end-to-end integration for high-value LSP accounts using bi-directional webhooks and event-driven pipelines.
• Customize AI agent logic and interfaces to optimize freight procurement, load tendering, and exception handling.
• Develop scalable pipelines using Kafka or PubSub to handle millions of logistics events daily.
• Unify disparate customer data into actionable signals for dynamic system interoperability.
• Provide critical field observations to the product team to directly shape the AI agent roadmap.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in software or solutions engineering in a customer-facing role.
• Mastery of API-first design and bi-directional webhook configuration.
• Experience with event-driven architecture and stream processing (Kafka, PubSub).
• Hands-on experience integrating with TMS, WMS, or ERP systems.
• Deep domain knowledge in logistics, including freight procurement and carrier management.
• Must be authorized to work in the US without current or future employer-sponsored visa support.

Nice to have

• Experience with agentic AI systems, including prompt engineering and tool invocation.
• Prior experience in a forward-deployed or field engineering role.
• Knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
