Senior FX Artist (Houdini)

Location: 100% remote within Australia; the role is associated with Sydney.

hirify.global is a high-end visual effects company specialising in photorealistic VFX for film, episodic content, and commercials.

What you will do

• Collaborate with supervisors and production to create high-quality visual effects for assigned shows.
• Produce look-tests based on reference materials and creative briefs.
• Ensure work integrates with the existing production pipeline.
• Meet project milestones, show schedules, and production deadlines.
• Apply problem-solving and communication skills while taking direction and collaborating with team members and management.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of professional experience creating FX with Houdini, including relevant Houdini FX plugins.
• Practical experience with rigid body and particle dynamics, volume modeling and rendering, procedural geometry generation, or fluid dynamics.
• Strong foundational understanding of physical dynamics and natural phenomena.
• Bachelor’s degree in Animation, Arts, Fine Arts, or equivalent professional production experience.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to take precise direction from show leads and supervisors.
• Ability to work remotely from within Australia.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Embergen.
• Experience with 3ds Max or Maya.
• Scripting proficiency.
