Location: Remote, Mexico City, Mexico
Salary: 32,000–35,000 MXN gross per month

is a North American outsourcing art studio supporting GameSim, a Keywords Studio game development partner for PC and console projects.
What you will do
- Create custom real-time visual effects for gameplay, environments, cinematics, combat, destruction, atmosphere, interaction, and UI feedback.
- Implement effects in Unreal Engine using Niagara, materials, Blueprints, scripting hooks, animation events, and gameplay triggers.
- Create supporting textures, flipbooks, meshes, simulations, materials, and reusable effect setups.
- Optimize particle counts, overdraw, shader cost, texture memory, spawn rates, scalability settings, and platform performance.
- Review VFX work, provide actionable feedback, mentor artists, and help maintain consistent quality across pods or features.
- Collaborate with design, engineering, technical art, animation, audio, art direction, production, and clients.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional game industry experience as a real-time VFX Artist or similar role.
- At least one shipped game and end-to-end real-time VFX experience from concept through in-engine implementation and polish.
- Strong Unreal Engine 4 or 5 and Niagara experience, with solid particle animation, material, texture, and real-time optimization fundamentals.
- Ability to balance visual impact, gameplay readability, technical cost, and production schedules.
- Experience mentoring, reviewing, or guiding artists and collaborating across game development disciplines.
- English proficiency at B2 or higher is required, and the CV must be submitted in English.
Nice to have
- Experience with Unity, Houdini, EmberGen, Substance Designer, proprietary engines, or custom VFX tools.
- Scripting or coding skills with C#, Python, Blueprint, or similar technologies.
- Experience with stylized and realistic effects, environmental VFX, weather, destruction, foliage, or atmospherics.
- Experience with outsourcing, co-development, partner studios, client reviews, or cross-studio feedback.
- Experience establishing VFX templates, libraries, naming conventions, scalability rules, or pipeline documentation.
