Principal Solution Architect (Financial Services)

Location: London, United Kingdom. Hybrid working is available, but this is not a remote-only position; willingness to travel and influence clients face to face is required.

What you will do

• Lead the Financial Services Industry vertical in the UK, reporting to the UK Director of Financial Services and CTO.
• Provide technical leadership for modernisation initiatives across core banking, payments, Open Banking, and related financial-services domains.
• Design pragmatic, secure, and compliant solutions for native and private cloud environments, including AWS and Azure.
• Lead pre-sales and post-sale consulting engagements and build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders.
• Develop strategic plans, support business development and proposals, and advise on technology investments.
• Mentor consultants and contribute to technical communities of practice and professional development.

Requirements

• Many years of experience leading large transformation and modernisation programmes in financial services.
• Strong architectural background and experience leading hybrid client and consulting teams.
• Enterprise-scale application design, development, and delivery experience with UK and near-shore resources.
• Knowledge of financial-sector regulations and GDPR, with experience architecting compliant solutions.
• Industry experience with modern engineering practices such as DevSecOps, cloud-native architecture, data pipelines, and security controls.
• Excellent communication, influencing, autonomous problem-solving, and senior stakeholder-management skills.
