What you will do

• Design, implement, and maintain MongoDB replica sets, sharded clusters, and standalone instances.
• Architect solutions for high availability, disaster recovery, and horizontal scaling.
• Automate MongoDB deployment and maintenance tasks using Terraform and Ansible.
• Perform capacity planning, index optimization, and query analysis to tune performance.
• Manage security including authentication (LDAP, x.509), RBAC, and encryption.
• Collaborate with development teams on schema design and data modeling strategies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in CS or related discipline or equivalent experience.
• 5-8 years of experience in Database Administration, with at least 3 years of hands-on MongoDB experience.
• Expert knowledge of MongoDB architecture, including sharding and the WiredTiger engine.
• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services (EC2, EBS, S3, CloudWatch).
• Proficiency in Linux/Unix and shell scripting (bash, Python) for automation.
• Must be based in the USA.

Nice to have

• MongoDB Certified DBA Associate or Professional certification.
• Experience with MongoDB Atlas, Docker, or Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of NoSQL data modeling patterns and anti-patterns.
• Familiarity with GitOps workflows and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
