Manager Development FCC (Fintech)

Location: Flexible hybrid schedule in Toronto at 483 Bay Street until approximately late 2026, then at 3 Robert Speck Parkway in Mississauga. Current work authorization for Canada is required.

Salary: CAD 176,000–188,000 annual base salary, plus a discretionary performance bonus.

Fidelity Clearing Canada provides trade execution, clearing, custody, and back-office support services to Canadian brokerage firms and the Canadian brokerage arms of U.S.-based firms.

What you will do

• Manage development teams and delivery of products and services for internal and external clients.
• Prioritize work, allocate resources, plan roadmaps, estimate effort, and communicate delivery status to senior management.
• Coordinate with technology, architecture, product, business, operations, information security, and vendor teams.
• Oversee releases, deployments, upgrades, production support, defect remediation, testing, security, and operational readiness.
• Lead cloud-native web application development using Java REST services, Angular or React, AWS services, REST APIs, and OAuth/OpenID Connect.
• Mentor developers, conduct performance assessments, support career development, and identify responsible uses of AI in engineering.

Requirements

• 5+ years of progressive software engineering experience and 3+ years of direct engineering management experience.
• Experience hiring, managing performance, and building successful teams, including teams with technical leads and individual contributors.
• Strong knowledge of Java REST, Angular or React, AWS, microservices, SOA, RESTful APIs, and event-driven messaging.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum, CI/CD, Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code, unit testing, secure coding, and security practices in the SDLC.
• Ability to lead hybrid teams with onsite and remote developers and collaborate with technical, business, vendor, and senior stakeholders.
• University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

• Experience in wealth management, brokerage, payments, banking, or fintech.
• Completion of the Canadian Securities Course.
