Backend Developer (Python)

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain reliable backend services and REST APIs using Python and FastAPI.
• Build and maintain microservices supporting enterprise applications, integrations, and data and analytics operations.
• Implement database access and persistence layers with SQLAlchemy, relational databases, and SQL.
• Develop asynchronous tasks, scheduled jobs, background workflows, ETL processes, and data workflow orchestration using Celery.
• Integrate applications with third-party APIs and Azure services, including authentication and access controls.
• Containerize, deploy, troubleshoot, document, and optimize services using Docker and Kubernetes while collaborating on requirements and delivery risks.

Requirements

• Strong professional experience developing backend applications and services with Python and strong proficiency in FastAPI.
• Practical experience with SQLAlchemy, relational databases, and strong SQL skills, including query writing and optimization.
• Experience with Celery, asynchronous task processing, scheduling, and background job orchestration.
• Experience designing and implementing microservices, REST APIs, API integrations, and third-party integrations.
• Understanding of ETL architectures, workflows, and data workflow orchestration.
• Experience with Docker and deploying and operating services in Kubernetes environments.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, cloud services, authentication, authorization, and external providers.
• Understanding of application reliability, error handling, troubleshooting, maintainable software design, and performance optimization.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, organizational, ownership, autonomy, documentation, and communication skills; strong English communication and effective collaboration with a US-based team.
