What you will do

• Perform venipunctures and finger sticks to obtain blood specimens.
• Verify test requisitions and patient identification to ensure accuracy and avoid discrepancies.
• Maintain specimen integrity using aseptic techniques and adhering to isolation procedures.
• Manage logistical tasks, including printing patient reports and scheduling courier services like FedEx or Medspeed.
• Handle billing inquiries, triaging, and follow-up with patients.
• Ensure a safe work environment by complying with legal regulations and JCAHO standards.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of phlebotomy experience.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy Certificate (if required by state).
• Ability to adhere to professional standards, hospital policies, and federal/state/local requirements.
• Must complete training relating to HIPAA/PHI privacy and security.
