What you will do
- Accurately accession specimens according to established protocols and guidelines.
- Perform intra-lab specimen transportation functions to support internal logistics.
- Scan, verify, and organize paperwork associated with specimen accessioning.
- Execute routine and specialized tasks to facilitate seamless departmental workflows.
- Maintain strict cleanliness and safety standards within the laboratory environment.
- Participate in the orientation and training of departmental staff.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
- Must be based in or be able to commute to Houston, TX.
- Preferred minimum of 1 year of laboratory experience.
- Ability to handle bloodborne and airborne pathogens or infectious material.
Nice to have
- Expertise in LIMS, HIPAA, and CLIA/CAP compliance.
- Experience with high-volume accessioning and specimen triage.
- Proficiency in chain of custody and sample tracking.
- Knowledge of SOP development and CAPA systems.
