What you will do

• Install, configure, and maintain IMS DB environments, including Full Function, Fast Path, and HALDB.
• Perform core database administration tasks such as definition, allocation, and space management via REORGs.
• Manage IMS control structures including DBD, PSB, ACB libraries, and the IMS Catalog.
• Execute and support IMS utilities for data loading, unloading, reorganization, and recovery.
• Monitor database performance and resolve access path inefficiencies, abends, and data corruption.
• Collaborate with application development and system programming teams to design and implement complex database solutions.

Requirements

• Minimum 7 years of DBA experience supporting IMS databases in a z/OS environment.
• Expertise in Sysplexed Data Sharing, Secondary Indexing, Logical Relationships, and Sparsing Routines (Assembler).
• Strong hands-on experience with IBM z/OS, JCL, TSO/ISPF, SDSF, and REXX.
• Proficiency in using IMS Database Administration Utilities and BMC monitoring tools.
• Experience in database performance tuning, backup, and recovery.
• Must be based in Phoenix, AZ, USA

Nice to have

• Integration experience with DB2, CICS, MQ, and distributed systems.
• Experience with OMEGAMON or MainView performance tools.
• Knowledge of IMS modernization APIs and z/OS Connect.
• Experience with large-scale database migrations or consolidation.
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance (SOX, PCI) and tools like ISPW or Service Now.
