What you will do

• Administer and optimize IBM i (AS/400) infrastructure and IBM Power Systems environments.
• Implement infrastructure solutions to improve performance, reliability, and security based on business requirements.
• Monitor system health and capacity while proactively identifying and resolving technical issues.
• Serve as a senior escalation point for troubleshooting complex infrastructure problems.
• Support system upgrades, maintenance, and business continuity/disaster recovery initiatives.
• Create technical documentation and provide mentorship to junior team members.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience administering IBM i (AS/400) environments.
• Experience supporting IBM Power Systems infrastructure.
• Proven expertise in performance tuning, system upgrades, and maintenance.
• Experience with change management and operational support processes.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
• Must be able to relocate to Springfield, Missouri upon conversion to full-time employment.

Nice to have

• Experience with Mimix high availability and disaster recovery solutions.
• Knowledge of IBM PowerHA and business continuity planning.
• Experience with IBM i security administration and auditing.
• Exposure to cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Scripting and infrastructure automation experience.
