Communications Developer (Salesforce Marketing Cloud)

TL;DR

Communications Developer (Salesforce Marketing Cloud): Designing and developing customer-facing email and SMS communications for a large-scale energy provider with an accent on personalization, responsive design, and cross-platform deliverability. Focus on building scalable templates and modules in Salesforce Marketing Cloud using AMPscript and SSJS to support triggered journeys and transactional messaging.

Location: Must be based in or able to work from Allentown, PA, Louisville, KY, or Providence, RI (Hybrid/Remote)

Salary: $55–$60/hr (W2)

What you will do

• Design and develop responsive, accessible email and SMS templates for operational and campaign use cases.
• Build dynamic communications using AMPscript and Server-Side JavaScript (SSJS) for personalization.
• Maintain and scale communication design patterns and reusable modules in Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Convey.
• Test and troubleshoot rendering across various email clients, browsers, and mobile devices.
• Collaborate with product managers, content writers, and business analysts to align messaging with brand and regulatory standards.
• Ensure compliance, deliverability, and accessibility best practices are applied to all customer-facing communications.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in email and digital communication development.
• Strong proficiency in HTML email coding and CSS for responsive design.
• Hands-on experience with AMPscript and Server-Side JavaScript (SSJS).
• Proven experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud or similar enterprise communication platforms.
• Experience supporting both email and SMS development workflows.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Nice to have

• Experience with Convey platform.
• Background in utility, energy, or other highly regulated industries.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and A/B testing.
• Experience building modular communication design systems.
