What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain applications built using SmallTalk.
• Support modernization efforts by migrating legacy functionality to Java-based applications.
• Participate in Agile Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, standups, and retrospectives.
• Deliver assigned user stories and technical enhancements within two-week sprint cycles.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application issues to ensure system stability.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to architectural design decisions.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on SmallTalk development experience.
• Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts and design patterns.
• Proven experience working as a software engineer within Agile/Scrum teams.
• Experience packaging and deploying SmallTalk applications in non-production environments.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be able to work onsite in Wilmington, DE 3 days per week.

Nice to have

• Full Stack Java development experience.
• Experience with React-based user interfaces.
• Microsoft SQL Server experience.
• Background in financial services, banking, or credit card servicing.
