What you will do

• Implement and optimize core vector and information-retrieval components like HNSW and quantization.
• Improve performance-critical paths to enhance latency, throughput, and resource efficiency.
• Solve real-world problems at scale with a focus on correctness, reliability, and maintainability.
• Participate in design discussions and code reviews within the Search/Vector team.
• Collaborate with Core, Cloud, and Support teams on feature development and issue resolution.
• Apply systems-level optimizations including memory layout, concurrency, and SIMD.

Requirements

• 5+ years of production experience building backend, systems, or infrastructure software.
• Strong background in either search/IR/vector systems or systems programming.
• Proficiency in C/C++ or Rust with experience writing concurrent and performant code.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to break down complex tasks.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with hirify.global or other NoSQL databases.
• Exposure to vector search, IR concepts, or ML-adjacent systems.
• Experience with Rust or strong interest in learning it.
• Contributions to open-source projects.
• Experience working on multithreaded or performance-sensitive systems.
