Senior Software Engineer– Low Voltage Prognostics (Automotive): Designing and deploying production-ready prognostic algorithms to predict and prevent low voltage failures in vehicles with an accent on parasitic drain detection and electrical system health. Focus on applying statistical analysis, anomaly detection, and machine learning to vehicle telemetry data to reduce warranty expenses and improve reliability.

Location: Hybrid (Milford or Warren, Michigan); candidates are expected to report to the office at least 3 times a week. Relocation benefits may be available.

What you will do

• Design and deploy prognostic algorithms for low voltage components and parasitic drain detection in lithium-ion batteries.
• Model low voltage system behavior, failure modes, and monitor degradation trends throughout the vehicle life cycle.
• Validate prognostic features in development and test fleets and support full production rollout.
• Partner with diagnostics, service engineering, and aftersales teams to ensure outputs are actionable and integrated into tools.
• Analyze field data to tune thresholds and evaluate the effectiveness of alerts.
• Develop long-term roadmaps for low voltage prognostics across different architectures and model years.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science.
• 5+ years of experience in automotive prognostics, diagnostics, embedded controls, or data analytics.
• Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and major machine learning frameworks.
• Experience with data visualization platforms such as PowerBI, Databricks Apps, or Azure Apps.
• Proven ability to transform ambiguous problems into technical solutions and clear requirements.

Nice to have

• Master's degree or PhD in Engineering or Computer Science.
• Expertise in degradation modeling, power conversion, or load management.
• Knowledge of functional safety standards (ISO 26262, ASIL).
• Experience with PySpark and Matlab.
• Application of LLMs or AI-enabled tooling to vehicle health and diagnostics.
