What you will do

• Lead initiatives within hirify.globalsearch to deliver an industry-leading vector database offering.
• Design and implement new vector search features and enhance existing functionality.
• Contribute to Lucene and optimize search relevance and speed.
• Solve complex technical challenges involving algorithms, data structures, and hardware-level performance.
• Collaborate with a globally distributed team and the open-source community.
• Act as a subject matter expert on vector similarity and search relevance.

Requirements

• Professional experience with vector similarity and vector databases (HNSW, IVF, or similar).
• Strong expertise in core Java, including data structures and concurrency.
• Proven ability to work with a high level of autonomy and lead cross-functional initiatives.
• Experience with search platforms at scale and familiarity with data storage technologies.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for asynchronous collaboration.
• Must comply with export control regulations regarding sanctioned countries and regions.
