TL;DR

Strategy Director (Corporate & Institutional Banking): Leading and contributing to complex strategic initiatives across CIB and the wider Group with an accent on deep analysis, original research, and board-level advisory. Focus on shaping corporate strategy, assessing the competitive landscape, and executing high-profile strategic initiatives like M&A and transformation programmes.

Location: Hybrid (London) — Must spend at least two days per week (40% of time) at the London office

What you will do

  • Lead and contribute to complex strategic initiatives across Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB) and the wider Group.
  • Develop strategic recommendations based on deep analysis and research to advise the GEC and Board level.
  • Shape the Group’s corporate strategy by assessing the evolving operating environment and competitive landscape.
  • Produce insightful analysis on competitors, challenger banks, and wider market trends.
  • Support the execution of strategies to translate them into tangible business outcomes.

Requirements

  • 8+ years’ experience in strategy, corporate development, investment banking, or consulting within complex financial services environments.
  • Proven track record of analyzing large, complex datasets and translating insights into strategic recommendations.
  • Strong experience delivering strategic initiatives such as M&A, disposals, or transformation programmes.
  • Ability to engage senior partners and produce high-quality materials for Executive and Board-level discussions.
  • Strong commercial awareness of market dynamics, competitors, and investor expectations.
  • Must be based in or be able to commute to the London office for hybrid work.
