System Integration Test Lead (Backend)

TL;DR

System Integration Test Lead (Backend): Defining and delivering end-to-end test strategies and plans for content supply platforms with an accent on system integration and automation. Focus on coordinating across multi-team environments, validating backend services, and optimizing the department's overall test automation strategy.

Location: Hybrid (2 days per week in London, Osterley). Must have the right to work in the UK; sponsorship is not provided.

What you will do

• Define and deliver end-to-end test strategies, approaches, and plans to drive early business value.
• Act as the main point of contact for test progress, communicating updates effectively to stakeholders and technical teams.
• Translate business and technical requirements into test scenarios and artefacts for new and existing features.
• Guide teams on automation and shape the department's overall test automation strategy.
• Own end-to-end quality and testing deliverables across services and applications, driving process improvements.
• Execute manual and automated tests and produce detailed test exit reports.

Requirements

• Experience leading integration testing across complex enterprise systems involving internal teams and third parties.
• Coding skills in at least one common language such as Java, Python, or Groovy for maintaining automation packs.
• Hands-on experience with tools and platforms including Postman, AWS, CloudWatch, and S3.
• Ability to quickly understand end-to-end architecture and identify testing gaps in backend systems.
• Strong stakeholder and people management skills.
• Must have the appropriate right to work in the UK.

Nice to have

• Experience as an Integration Lead in a large engineering organization delivering backend services.
• Knowledge of video encoding, encryption, and streaming technologies (OTT).
• Strong understanding of Agile principles and experience in continuous delivery/testing environments.
• Expertise in RESTful services, microservices, NoSQL databases, and network protocols.
