Head Of Information Security (Fintech)

TL;DR

Head of Information Security (Fintech): Leading and coordinating the information security function to protect customers and data while enabling secure business growth. Focus on translating security strategy into operational delivery plans, managing cross-functional security dependencies, and maturing the security leadership team.

Location: Hybrid role, must be based in the UK and able to work from the Manchester or London office at least 50% of the time (with a 3-month full-time onboarding period).

What you will do

• Support the CISO in leading and developing the Information Security function.
• Translate strategic direction into clear priorities, delivery plans, and measurable outcomes.
• Provide operational leadership across security disciplines including GRC, IAM, engineering, and operations.
• Act as a senior escalation point for cross-functional security issues and delivery challenges.
• Deputise for the CISO in senior meetings, governance forums, and risk committees.
• Improve team efficiency through automation, AI, and repeatable workflows.

Requirements

• Must be based in the UK and able to work from Manchester or London offices.
• Strong experience in a senior Information Security, Cyber Security, or Technology Risk leadership role.
• Proven ability to lead and coordinate multiple security disciplines (e.g., architecture, GRC, operations).
• Deep understanding of security risk management, control frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, CIS), and regulatory requirements (GDPR, FCA, PRA).
• Experience translating security strategy into practical delivery plans and measurable outcomes.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence executive leadership.

Nice to have

• Experience in financial services, investment platforms, or regulated environments.
• Previous experience operating as a deputy to a CISO or Head of Cyber Security.
