Senior Backend Engineer

TL;DR

Senior Backend Engineer (Java/Spring): Develop and maintain reliable backend applications with an accent on RESTful API development, database and messaging integrations, and building robust CI/CD and automated test pipelines. Focus on applying strong software engineering fundamentals (OOP, concurrency, TDD) while incorporating security best practices across the development lifecycle.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain reliable backend applications.
• Implement RESTful APIs, integrate with databases, and connect to messaging services.
• Write automated tests and apply TDD practices.
• Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and design backend features.
• Apply security best practices throughout development and contribute to team growth via mentorship and interview participation.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Java 8 or higher (Java 11+ preferred).
• Competency in Spring and Spring Boot.
• Experience with code versioning tools, preferably Git.
• Experience with test automation (e.g., JUnit, Mockito).
• Working knowledge of RESTful API development.
• Effective communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with SQL, JPA, and Hibernate.
• Experience with microservices architecture, containerization, and orchestration.
• Experience with CI/CD platforms (preferably Azure DevOps) and build tools such as Maven.
• An Agile mindset and experience working in Agile multicultural environments.
