Backend Engineer (Java)

Location: Jakarta Selatan, Jakarta Raya, Indonesia; onsite full-time

What you will do

• Design and implement RESTful APIs, microservices, and server-side application functionality.
• Develop and maintain integrations with external systems.
• Own the architectural component of a large software system and participate in architecture and technical planning meetings.
• Monitor and optimize backend performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement fixes.
• Collaborate with product management, UI/UX, mobile, web engineering, and QA teams to deliver sprint commitments.
• Maintain API documentation, system diagrams, technical runbooks, and application updates and refactoring.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree.
• 3–5 years of backend software development experience.
• Experience building and maintaining production-grade APIs and services in complex multi-team environments.
• Proficiency in backend programming languages such as Java, Node, Python, or Go.
• Experience with RESTful API development, microservices architecture, design patterns, secure coding, Git, CI/CD, testing, and performance optimization.
• Proficiency in English and Bahasa Indonesia is required.
