Software Engineer – Mission Control Software (Aerospace)

Location: Munich, Germany; relocation assistance is available, including visa sponsorship where applicable.

Salary: €65K–€82.5K, subject to location and technical merit.

What you will do

• Develop robust mission control software and supporting tools for integrated testing and mission operations.
• Contribute across the full software development lifecycle, from design through deployment.
• Build scalable systems for the company’s expanding mission activities, including real-time data processing and ingestion.
• Collaborate with testing, engineering, and operations teams to address operational requirements.
• Write performant, maintainable, and well-documented code and ensure reliability through automated testing and operational validation.
• Support users, improve development workflows and tooling, and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

• Backend development experience with Python and/or Ruby on Rails.
• Frontend experience with modern JavaScript frameworks such as React or Vue.
• Experience with message brokers or event-streaming systems such as Redis Streams or Kafka.
• Experience designing, building, and maintaining scalable distributed systems.
• Familiarity with object-oriented programming, software design patterns, Git, and automated testing frameworks.
• Analytical problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and experience working in agile software development environments.

Nice to have

• Experience with relational or time-series databases.
• Experience with AWS or Azure cloud platforms.
• Familiarity with containerization and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience in the space industry or other safety-critical domains.
