What you will do

• Design and develop custom test hardware solutions using commercially available standard components.
• Create new test hardware designs and upgrades to meet or exceed product specifications.
• Devise hardware architectures and methods based on available components.
• Develop hardware patches for specific product failure modes and component obsolescence.
• Collaborate with software engineers to define new software requirements for new hardware.
• Work cross-functionally with hardware, firmware, QA, and supplier quality engineering to improve test effectiveness and efficiency.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in electronics design.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering.
• Knowledge of Hard Disc Drive operation.
• Experience designing high-speed (>5GHz) analog and digital circuits using differential ECL/CML logic, RF amplifiers, PLLs, CDRs, serializers, and deserializers.
• Strong skills in complex timing analysis, signal integrity, and power integrity analysis, including board power supply and thermal calculations.
• Experience with FPGA logic design and coding (preferably Intel Altera) and fluency in schematics and PCB design tools (preferably Mentor Xpedition).
