Fullstack Developer (Node.js)

TL;DR

Fullstack Developer (Node.js/React): Designing and maintaining end-to-end software solutions for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs with an accent on scalable and secure cloud-based architectures. Focus on building responsive user interfaces, developing RESTful APIs, and integrating microservices to enhance the Veteran experience.

Location: Primarily remote, but must be able to come on-site in Washington, DC, as required

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end full-stack applications (front-end and back-end).
• Build responsive, accessible, and user-friendly interfaces using modern web frameworks.
• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
• Collaborate with DevSecOps engineers to integrate CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
• Ensure application security, performance, and scalability.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and iterative development processes.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Must be able to obtain a Public Trust or higher-level clearance.
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Experience with modern front-end frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue.js) and back-end development (Node.js, Java, or .NET).

Nice to have

• Experience supporting VA or federal IT programs.
• Familiarity with cloud-native development (AWS, Azure).
• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of healthcare IT systems or interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR).
• Experience with low-code/no-code platforms.
