What you will do
- Design PCBs from schematic capture to layout and manufacturing data using Altium Designer, KiCad, or comparable tools.
- Develop electronics architectures, including power distribution, signal routing, and communication interfaces.
- Design and specify cable harnesses, connectors, and mechanical-electrical interfaces for robustness and compact assembly.
- Implement and debug microcontroller firmware for battery management, power-state control, and system supervision.
- Collaborate with mechanical and production teams to ensure reliable and repeatable assembly of electronics.
- Support field and flight tests by debugging hardware failures, wiring, and analyzing logs.
Requirements
- Degree in electrical engineering, electronics, embedded systems, mechatronics, or a comparable field.
- Strong practical experience with PCB design, schematic capture, layout, and hardware bring-up.
- Proficiency with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and soldering/rework tools.
- Knowledge of embedded communication protocols including CAN, UART, SPI, I2C, and Ethernet.
- Ability to write or debug basic embedded firmware in C, C++, Rust, or Python.
- Must be based in or able to work on-site in Gilching, Germany.
Nice to have
- Experience with UAVs, robotics, automotive electronics, aerospace, or defense systems.
- Knowledge of high-current systems, battery interfaces, chargers, or propulsion electronics.
- Familiarity with EMC testing, environmental testing, or safety-critical hardware.
- Experience designing electronics for mass production.
