Senior Network Engineer LAN/WAN (Cisco)

TL;DR

Senior Network Engineer (Cisco/WAN): Managing and configuring Cisco-centric WAN infrastructure for a large national network with an accent on site-to-site VPN connectivity and router management. Focus on troubleshooting Layer 1-3 issues, maintaining network documentation, and optimizing TCP/IP performance over WAN.

Location: On-site in Washington, DC (5 days/week). US Citizenship required.

What you will do

• Configure Cisco routers for site-to-site VPN connectivity following customer standards and best practices.
• Provide second-level WAN support for the Network Command Center (NCC) across Layers 1, 2, and 3.
• Troubleshoot VPN network issues using interface and controller commands.
• Support Cisco network equipment through ongoing maintenance, configuration, and management.
• Assist users with equipment location, interface ports, and cable management.
• Manage administrative duties, including VPN documentation and equipment logistics for remote offices.

Requirements

• Experience with Cisco routing, including VPNs and EIGRP.
• CCNA certification required; CCNP preferred.
• Solid understanding of end-to-end TCP/IP operation and performance over a WAN.
• US Citizenship is mandatory for access to the site location.
• Must be able to work on-site in Washington, DC daily.
• Ability to pass a drug screen and background investigation.
