TL;DR

Senior Network Architect/Engineer (Cisco): Designing and executing the migration of legacy transport infrastructure to modern enterprise architectures for the U.S. Coast Guard with an accent on T1 to MPLS transition. Location: Remote (US), with up to 25% travel. Must have Active Secret Clearance

What you will do

  • Lead the engineering and execution of migrating legacy T1 lines to modern MPLS networks.
  • Configure and optimize Cisco Catalyst 8300 edge platforms and 9200L switches.
  • Architect high-availability networks using HSRP redundancy across primary network hubs.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and performance tuning during circuit cutover phases.
  • Develop low-level designs (LLDs) and network topology diagrams.

Requirements

  • 9+ years of relevant experience.
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CySA+)
  • Deep expertise in T1 to MPLS migration, routing, and QoS.
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco C8300 and C9200L series.

Nice to have

  • Prior experience with USCG or DHS network modernization programs.
  • Advanced certifications such as CCNP or CCIE.
  • Advanced knowledge of WAN architecture and traffic engineering.
