What you will do

• Copyedit middle and high school curricula for punctuation, grammar, style, consistency, and accuracy.
• Verify factual accuracy of dates and statistics, and ensure proper spelling of names and organizations.
• Coordinate copyedit team resources to ensure project milestones and deliverables are met.
• Mentor team members to improve their craft and the application of best practices in copyediting.
• Contribute to the development and refinement of tools and guides to improve composition quality.
• Collaborate with subject matter teams to standardize formatting and style across department products.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in English or a related field.
• 2+ years of professional copyediting experience including the use of relevant tools and processes.
• Seasoned knowledge of The Chicago Manual of Style.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Docs, and Google Sheets.
• Must be based in Pennsylvania, United States.

Nice to have

• 4+ years of specific copyediting experience.
• Experience with Smartsheet or similar project management software.
