Senior Software Engineer (Backend, AI)

Location: Fully remote within Spain or Europe; offices in Madrid, Barcelona, and Valencia are optional to visit.

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain backend services in Go and Python within a Kubernetes-based microservices architecture.
• Own features end-to-end, from technical design and deployment through iteration and production support.
• Work with clients and client-facing teams to translate requirements into reliable, scalable solutions.
• Write clean, tested, production-ready code and contribute to code reviews.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and improve existing client implementations while building new capabilities.

Requirements

• 7+ years of software engineering experience with a strong backend focus.
• Production experience with Go and Python.
• Strong understanding of microservices and distributed systems.
• Experience with Kafka or similar message queue systems, Redis or equivalent in-memory data stores, and MongoDB.
• Production experience with Kubernetes and containerised services, plus familiarity with AWS and GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work with clients and cross-functional teams in an ambiguous, high-ownership environment.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with AI/ML systems, LLM integration, or agentic workflows.
• Exposure to vector databases or retrieval-augmented generation.
• Early-stage or scaling startup experience.
• Background in security architecture or SRE practices.
