What you will do

• Perform quality control reviews of clinical samples and NGS data.
• Analyze clinical genomics data, including variant identity and trinucleotide repeat analysis.
• Utilize IGV for variant checking and order necessary confirmation testing.
• Monitor clinical case status and ensure adherence to turnaround time requirements.
• Train coworkers and contribute to workflow process improvements.
• Communicate complex genetic details effectively within a clinical context.

Requirements

• Must be based in the United States
• Bachelor of Science in Genetics or a related field.
• 7+ years of relevant experience in clinical genomics or molecular biology.
• Deep understanding of HGVS variant nomenclature standards.
• Expertise in clinical medicine, genetics, and data quality assessment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.

Nice to have

• Master’s, PhD, MD, or MB(ASCP) certification.
• Experience in pharmacogenomics (PGx) variant calling, specifically CYP2D6.
• Knowledge of ACMG variant curation guidelines and copy number variation (CNV) concepts.
• Experience with bioinformatics analysis, variant effect prediction algorithms, and scripting languages.
