Senior Scientist (Immunoassay Development): Developing and optimizing novel immunoassay platforms to support drug discovery screening cascades with an accent on high-sensitivity bioanalytical data generation. Location: Must be based in or able to work from the Babraham Research Campus, Cambridge, UK (Hybrid role).

What you will do
- Design, implement, and interpret immunoassay data to advance drug discovery programs.
- Perform hands-on development, optimization, and validation of singleplex and multiplex immunoassay formats (e.g., ELISA, HTRF, MSD).
- Generate high-quality data to characterize novel small molecule and oligonucleotide therapeutics.
- Oversee data generation conducted at external CROs and ensure scientific quality.
- Mentor and develop junior scientists in immunoassay techniques and troubleshooting.
- Continuously evaluate and adopt innovative immunoassay technology platforms to enhance experimental capabilities.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in immunoassay or target engagement assay development within a drug discovery environment.
- Proven track record in designing and executing sensitive singleplex and multiplex immunoassays.
- Experience contributing to DMTA cycles and partnering with Chemistry and DMPK teams.
- Working knowledge of assay automation, data analysis tools (e.g., GraphPad Prism), and ELNs.
- Must be eligible to work in the UK and able to work on-site at the Babraham Research Campus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for presenting complex scientific concepts.
Nice to have
- Applied experience with ultra-sensitive platforms like Simoa.
- Experience with cellular profiling techniques such as flow cytometry or high-content imaging.
- Formal line management experience.
- Experience with broader in vitro assay development techniques.
